Free · Windows · ~2 MB · no account

Spotify ads,
silenced.
Spotify itself, untouched.

AdSnooze sits quietly on your desktop, hears the moment Spotify slips in an ad, and mutes it — then brings your music back the instant it ends. No Premium. No modding Spotify. No risk to your account.

v0.3.0 · ~2 MB installer · Windows 10/11 · macOS & Linux coming

the actual AdSnooze pill, live

Idle

Spotify's quiet. AdSnooze waits, using almost nothing.

Playing

Your music passes straight through. Untouched.

Ad muted

An ad starts — silenced in under a second. Music's back the moment it ends.

How it works

Three steps. Then never think about it again.

  1. 01

    Install AdSnooze

One tiny ~2 MB installer. No account, no sign-up, no configuration. It opens as a small glass pill on your desktop.

  2. 02

    Open Spotify like normal

Keep using the Spotify app exactly as you do. AdSnooze just listens for the ad/song transition in the background.

  3. 03

    Ads mute themselves

When an ad starts, AdSnooze mutes Spotify's audio within a second and restores it the instant the ad ends. That's it.

Why AdSnooze

Small, safe, and quiet by design.

🛡️

Safe by design

AdSnooze never modifies Spotify — no patching, no DLL injection, no account hijacking. It only mutes the operating system's audio. Nothing to ban, nothing to break on the next Spotify update.

Free, no Premium

The whole point is not paying $11.99/month just to skip ads. The core ad-mute is free, forever.

Tiny & near-invisible

A ~2 MB install that idles under 0.5% CPU and ~80 MB RAM. Built on Tauri + Rust, not a bloated Electron wrapper.

🔒

Telemetry-free

No tracking, no phone-home, no analytics SDK. Any "ads muted" counters stay on your machine and are opt-in.

Actually beautiful

A true-transparent glass pill with native rounded corners and a live spectrum that morphs into MUTE when an ad's hushed. Drag it anywhere; shrink it to a tiny dot.

The trust part

What AdSnooze never does.

Most "Spotify ad blockers" patch or mod the Spotify app — which can get your account flagged and breaks on every update. AdSnooze takes the boring, safe road.

  • Patch, mod, or repackage the Spotify app
  • Inject code or DLLs into the Spotify process
  • Touch your account, password, or login tokens
  • Block or skip ads at the network level
  • Send any data off your machine
  • Detects ads via documented OS media APIs
  • Mutes only Spotify's own audio session
  • Restores your audio the instant the ad ends
  • Runs entirely locally, telemetry-free
  • Leaves Spotify completely untouched

FAQ

The honest answers.

Will this get my Spotify account banned?

AdSnooze never touches the Spotify app or your account — it only mutes your computer's audio when an ad plays, the same as if you turned the volume knob down. There's nothing for Spotify to detect inside its app, because nothing inside its app is changed. (Note: muting free-tier ads still lives in a grey area of Spotify's terms; we don't modify Spotify, but use it with that understanding.)

Does it block ads or just mute them?

Mute. The ad still plays silently in Spotify — AdSnooze doesn't skip it, remove it, or interfere with playback. It simply silences your speakers for its duration, then unmutes. That's exactly why it's safe.

Windows says "Unknown publisher" / SmartScreen warns me. Is it malware?

No. The installer just isn't code-signed yet (signing is a paid certificate we're setting up). Until then, Windows SmartScreen shows a caution on any unsigned app. Click More info → Run anyway. The build is open about exactly what it does, and you can verify the download's SHA-256 below.

How is this different from EZBlocker or BlockTheSpot?

EZBlocker also mutes (it's the closest cousin) but is Windows-only and dated. BlockTheSpot, Spicetify and similar tools patch the Spotify client itself — powerful, but they can flag your account and break on Spotify updates. AdSnooze deliberately never modifies Spotify, and runs on a modern cross-platform codebase.

Does it work with Spotify Premium?

It's built for the free tier (Premium already has no ads). It won't hurt anything on Premium — it just won't have ads to mute.

How do I uninstall it?

Like any Windows app — Settings → Apps → AdSnooze → Uninstall, or via the Start-menu shortcut. It leaves nothing running and stores no cloud data.
